Letter from the President
Treasuring the Past, Anticipating the Future.
Webster defines a milestone as a significant event in history, in a career, etc. The ministry of Texas Baptist Home for Children reached a very significant place in her history on January 21, 2010. What began as a simply a dream on the hearts of a group of churches has now continued for a century. During this time, the foundation of our cause has been in response to the words of Jesus in Matt. 25:40,” …verily I say unto you, in as much as you have done it unto the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.” In the eyes of many, the children who have called our campus home would serve to qualify as “the least.” However, through the years, many people have served these children by providing food, clothing, and a safe place, for an otherwise homeless child to lay their head. These individuals have given something much more important, they have given themselves. Children, who are seeking deliverance from a background of abuse and neglect, need constant reinforcement spiritually, physically, and emotionally. A birth mother, who’s considering adoption, needs understanding and guidance in the proper care for herself and her unborn child. These resources are provided through the services of Texas Baptist Home for Children.
I invite you to team with this dedicated staff in assisting children, youth, and young adults throughout the state of Texas. Your prayer support is a vital part of this ministry. Your financial support will ensure our children continue to receive the same quality services they have learned to anticipate from Texas Baptist Home.
A bright future is anticipated for this ministry, as we seek to carry out our mission of protecting the sanctity of human life and promoting the preservation of the family. This purpose manifests itself in preventative, rehabilitative and specialized services to children, youth, adults, and families.
